My research topic is PTSD within Domestic Violence victims.

Research Paper Instructions

Write a professional research paper of 7–8 pages (not counting your title page or references page/bibliography) investigating PTSD in relation to a specific trauma, population, symptom or co-occuring disorder. At minimum, the paper should include a brief summary of PTSD (including key symptoms), exploration of treatment options or ways to serve those impacted by PTSD, and integration of a Biblical worldview or Scriptural principles. You may include additional information based on your interest area. The paper should be written in APA or Turabian style; however, you DO NOT need an abstract if writing in APA style.

There are a plethora of options for the topic of this paper that you may pursue based on your cognate of study and career/ministry goals. Some examples include: PTSD and a specific trauma: domestic violence, natural disasters, sexual assault, military sexual trauma, combat, etc. PTSD and a specific population: PTSD in children, military, missionaries, clergy, first responders, etc or PTSD and a co-occuring disorder (eating disorders, substance abuse, suicide, depression). Students will be given feedback on their proposed research paper topic in Week 2.

The paper must have a minimum of 8 scholarly references published in the last 8 years. You may have older sources and/or additional sources, but there must be a minimum of eight published in the last eight years. The paper is to be written in a professional manner using APA or Turabian style, and sources must be peer reviewed journal articles or published books/papers. Please do not use this paper as a personal journal or to explain lived-experience with PTSD, trauma or combat stress. Also, avoid using popular websites as references (ex: Wikipedia). Balance the paper with both a biblical worldview and theoretical perspectives. The paper is worth 150 points.
