Each student will choose one of the following primary source documents from the textbook: The

Chronicle of the Seeker (pg.228), Heian Court-Diary (pg. 249), Travels (pg. pg 275), or Sinbad’s

First Voyage (pg. 280), read it and analyze it according to a set of assigned questions.

-The following questions must be answered in the assignment:

1. In what ways did the text affect the culture in which it occurred?

2. Did this information get spread to other cultures, and if so how did it get spread and how

was it applied?

3. Are there any Christian/biblical elements within the text that you can extrapolate, and if

so is there any application for them?

4. Are there any modern day applications for the text; if yes, what are they, and if no, then

why not.

-These four questions should be answered in essay format and the length should be two full pages

of material.

-The paper should be double spaced, using 12 point Times New Roman Font.

-The name of the student, followed by name of professor, followed by class title, followed by due

date should be place in the top upper left hand side of the paper.

-The primary source should be cited properly throughout the paper. If this is not done this is

considered plagiarism and you will receive a ZERO percent. There should be a Reference page for

which you place your source of information.

-DO NOT WHATOSEVER USE FIRST PERSON LANGUAGE AT ALL!
