ASSIGNMENT #1: PARADIGM ANALYSIS PAPER. It is difficult for a social worker, regardless of content expertise, specialization, or field experience, to be optimally effective without continuing to grow and understand her/his values, beliefs, assumptions, and prejudices that may influence their “use of self” as a practitioner. Thus, students are required in this seven (7) page paper to conduct an analysis of the dimensions that make up their paradigm (world view) that may influence their professional “use of self” as social work practitioners. Specifically, students are required to demonstrate an understanding of the basic concept of a paradigm, the dimensions of traditional and alternative paradigms that are related to their “use of self” as a social work practitioner. Therefore, students are required to answer the questions below to assess the achievement this specific learning outcome: 1.
